I would recommend that, during your free week, you take the tour of the site to learn about all the features. When you log into Wealthy Affiliate, look at the top of the page above “chat” and you will see a box that says, “Learn about Wealthy Affiliate — Wealthy Affiliate system tour.” Take this tour and you will have a useful overview of the company and its features.
Okay, say you have started. What do you do first?
You must choose if you want to start an entrepreneurial site, which can be on any subject you wish, or you can start the bootcamp training, which will prepare you to promote Wealthy Affiliate itself. When you click on the “training” button on the left of the page you make the choice as to which training you want to try.
Once you have made this choice, click on that choice. Once you have selected the training, remember that it is extremely important that you complete each step of training in the order in which it is presented, as you will learn all the skills you need to build your site.
What Do You Want To Write About?
You will be asked to choose a niche. Think carefully and determine the one thing you are most passionate about. It should be something that will drive you to produce useful posts for your followers.
There is so much training available in Wealthy Affiliate. If you want to read some tutorials about selecting a niche, there are a couple of places you can look. First, go to the black search bar at the top of the Wealthy Affiliate page and type in “niche.” You will find various posts on the subject.
Remember this search bar if you have other questions. It is a great way to find answers you need.
You can also go to the “training” tab for another search. Click on “Training HQ” to go to the massive training library. In here, you can again search for “niche” and will find valuable training videos that will help you in making your decision.
Your Theme — The Outer Skin Of The Onion
After you have selected a niche, you will be asked in training to select a theme. If you are brand new to the website-building theme, you may have no idea how to choose a theme. I know I didn’t.
In Wealthy Affiliate you have a mind-boggling selection of niches, all free. I’d advise starting with a free theme so you can find out what you really want included in your theme. You can always upgrade later. For starters, just look
through them and select one that looks good to you. You can preview it to get an idea of its features.
Once you have gotten your website up and running, you will learn what features you like about that theme, and what you might want to change or add. If these things are missing from the theme you chose, you can look for one that has everything you want. Changing themes is easy.
I just changed a theme on a website with 165 posts. I hoped nothing would go wrong during the change. The change-over proved to be quite easy. If you do decide to change, check out the tutorials available. It is an easy process. Just be sure you do a backup before you start, so if any information is lost from your site, you have a way to retrieve it.
You Are Joining A Caring, Helpful Community
Once you are rolling forward, you will receive posts from various community members in your email. If you ask a question, you will be sent an email notice that it has been answered. You will receive notification of posts from other members.
You can learn a great deal from these messages. The Wealthy Affiliate community is so very helpful. Be sure to ask the community if you need an
answer to a question.
Look again at the menu on the left-hand side of the page. Click on “Help Center.” See the heading that says “Ask a Question?” Click here to type in your question. It will go to the community, and you will most likely receive several answers.
When you read your answers, or for that matter, any time you read someone’s post, click on the green “You Like This” at the end. When you receive an answer, click on the “like” under the answer. This move is important, because the number of “likes” a writer receives can help improve their Wealthy Affiliate ranking. You are helping a fellow member with this click.
You will find many posts on this website that give you information on what makes up success and how to attain it. You will also learn about other opportunities available online and why they are good or not-so-good choices.
The Skills You Need Are All Taught Here
It’s been said before, but I will say it again: Wealthy Affiliate is not a get-rich-quick site. Instead, you are taught all the skills you will need for online success and you will be given a place where you can build the vehicle that will get you there. The rest is up to you.
Do the work, build your website, and keep taking action steps to move you forward. Go as slow or as fast as you want. If you keep moving forward and don’t quit, eventually you will reach your goal.
